A huge, movable concert hall driven by hopes for the reconstruction

Lucerne Festival Ark Nova 2017 in Tokyo Midtown

2017.9.19 - 10.4

Lucerne Festival is a Swiss music festival with a long history. Working in cooperation with many others, they created a huge movable concert hall, Arc Nova, to support the reconstruction from the Great East Japan Earthquake through art and music. The hall was designed by architect Arata Isozaki and contemporary sculptor Anish Kapoor. Sharing the determination to never let the memory of the earthquake fade away, Tokyo Midtown brought the hall for its first appearance in the metropolis.
